To begin the search, I used xc2xa0the keywords Ketamine, analgesia, sedation and emergency medicine.xc2xa0 xc2xa0Using these words, I was able to find 408 results.xc2xa0 I further limited my xc2xa0search to ten years which yielded 297 results.xc2xa0 Finally, I used xc2xa0systematic reviews, meta-analysis and randomized control trials (RCTs) xc2xa0for my final search narrowing the articles to 111.xc2xa0 Upon examination of xc2xa0the articles, I found the articles based on systematic reviews, xc2xa0meta-analysis and RCTs provided detailed research including abstracts, xc2xa0methods of trials, results, discussion, limitations, and conclusion.xc2xa0 xc2xa0Each of these sections specifies the purpose of the study in detail.xc2xa0xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 xc2xa0 Using this framework for literature review xc2xa0ensures relevant research is used to answer evidence seeking questions.xc2xa0 xc2xa0Davies (2011) comments, xe2x80x9cdetailed knowledge of the frameworks enables xc2xa0the searcher to refine strategies to suit each particular situation xc2xa0rather than trying to fit a search situation to a frameworkxe2x80x9d (p. 79).xc2xa0 xc2xa0By using a timeframe such as the past ten years, it is easier to see the xc2xa0relevance of the information to clinical practice today.xc2xa0 An active xc2xa0literature search will yield the most appropriate information for the xc2xa0question being posed.ReferencesDavies, K.
